Working alongside MakeBelieve Arts, pupils from Year 12 and 13 from John Roan Secondary School, have formed the JR Theatre Company.
The sessions take place once a week, out-of-school but during the term and encourage commitment to the group and develops their drama and creative skills.
In the Autumn term 2011, MakeBelieve Arts worked alongside the company to help shape and create their debut performance “What’s in the Box?”. Taking inspiration from Greek mythology and Edgar Allen Poe’s “Masque of the Red Death”, the company reinvented and reimagined a new twisted tale (pictured above).
