Arnie Hewitt started working as a volunteer for a local radio station in his home town of Nottingham but realised he needed to be seen and not just heard so took a 3 year speech and dramatic art course in Birmingham from 1987 to 1990.
While still at drama school he was able to obtain an Equity card performing extracts from Shakespeare in private boarding schools such as Gourstan. This was his introduction to theatre in education and he's been hooked ever since.
Arnie worked with such companies as Theatre Centre and Merseyside Young People's Theatre who all have a common goal to produce exciting, dynamic and challenging work. That's why he's here now with MakeBelieve Arts because they have a drive to push boundaries within performance and teaching ethics.
Arnie has also worked as a puppeteer and freestyle dancer, performing in places such as Greece and Vienna and for the Spice Girls.
