Cathy Walker trained at the Poor School, after graduating from Sheffield University with a First Class BA Honours in English and Drama, where she won the William Empson Active Prize.
Cathy has led Shakespeare and storytelling workshops in schools with the National Theatre. She also works alongside excluded children in the national Sing-Up programme, with Squeaky Gate; uses forum theatre for training and awareness-raising with Outside Edge Theatre Company; leads music sessions with the very young and their carers; has clowned with Kazzum; offered Lady Macbeth to teenagers; is a published illustrator; and played Miss Casewell in the Mousetrap, West End.
