MakeBelieve Arts can provide placements and work experience opportunities to local schools, colleges, universities or organisations with work placement schemes.
Due to the nature of our work we rarely have opportunities to use volunteers though we are willing to if a project can support them.
We recognise that the placements we offer should be relevant and meaningful to both parties. We want to create a practical, positive and rich learning experience for individuals whilst ensuring those who undertake placements have skills to offer as well as the capacity and desire to build on them.
We are currently unable to offer placements to young people under the age of 14 due to guidelines on duty of care. We are able to offer placements to 13 year olds who will be 14 at the time of their placement. Prospective placements with special educational needs (SEN) or other needs will be considered on a case by case basis as with any other placement.
If you are interested in applying for a placement opportunity at MakeBelieve Arts, you can follow the placements procedure outlined below:
- Please direct a letter of application in writing to MakeBelieve Arts, explaining the kind of experience you are looking for and why you want to work with us.
- Please consider what you would like to get out of the experience at MakeBelieve Arts, and what specific skills you have to offer.
- Include your preferred dates for the placement.
- If you have a CV or other relevant work experience you would like us to know about, please include it with your letter of application.
NB. It is key that this information comes from the person seeking the placement and not an independent representative (eg. parent or teacher)
We will then view your application and invite you for an informal interview with our team. Once that is completed we will be able to let you know within 48 hours if we can offer you a placement.
