MakeBelieve Arts has developed an interactive session on Restorative Approaches, which empowers pupils with some of the language and emotional tools they need to manage conflict.
During the session with MakeBelieve Arts practitioners, pupils witness an argument through the use of invisible theatre. They hear how workshop leaders deal with this, explore what both parties were thinking and feeling and also what each person needs in order to resolve the situation.
Pupils work together to create 'I messages' for characters, articulating the conflict from differing view points. They also receive an 'I message' card at the end of each session.
