Cathy Walker

Cathy trained at the Poor School, after graduating from Sheffield University with a First Class BA Honours in English and Drama, where she won the William Empson Active Prize.

Cathy has led Shakespeare and storytelling workshops in schools with the National Theatre. She also worked alongside excluded children in the national Sing-Up programme, with Squeaky Gate; used forum theatre for training and awareness-raising with Outside Edge Theatre Company; leads music sessions with the very young and their carers; has clowned with Kazzum; offered Lady Macbeth to teenagers; and is a published illustrator and writer .

She recently understudied on The Curious Incident of the Dog in the Night-Time and Alan Bennett’s Untold Stories, both with National Theatre Productions.  Other theatre credits include several seasons with Blunderbus, Outside Edge, Riding Lights Theatre Companies, Nesting (Watermill Theatre, Newbury), Present Laughter (Theatre Royal, Bath) as well as playing Miss Casewell in The Mousetrap, West End.

She co-founded Collidescape Theatre, composing music and songs for their new show, Wanderlust, as well as performing it to audiences with profound and multiple learning disabilities

Mother of two, when the chance arises, she and the clan can be found surfing, cycling and pottering in the local allotment.
