Kate Powell is a theatre facilitator and puppet practitioner whose work focuses on the education and liberation of creativity and empathy within communities.
Inspired by her work abroad in Indian and Romanian education systems, her training at The Royal Central School of Speech and Drama and then into her professional career, Kate believes in using her skills in Drama and Puppetry to help us understand ourselves, our connections and our communities.
As a workshop leader for Little Angel Theatre, a practitioner for her own company PowellPuppets and now as a creative associate with MakeBelieve Arts, Kate hopes to benefit and compliment the formalised education system with creative alternatives to curriculum based learning.
Outside of her education work, you'll find Kate at The Errant Stage. The Errant Stage is a big red converted van that is not only her self converted home, but serves as a nomadic theatre venue, hosting all types of performance across the U.K. The Errant Stage is Kate's response to radical arts funding cuts and hopes to maintain an affordable, accessible and sustainable future for the arts.
