Six Degrees of Separation

...or Taking MakeBelieve Arts around the world

Based on the notion of six degrees of separation and the theory that everyone and everything is six or fewer steps away, by way of introduction, from any other person in the world, we are contacting everyone we know on Facebook, Twitter and via Email to ask if you know someone who knows someone who might be able to help with the adventure we are currently planning.

From 26th April 2014 till the end of November Artistic Director Trisha Lee will be leaving the London base of MakeBelieve Arts and setting off around the world in search of knowledge and wisdom.

During the 7 months that she is away she will have the opportunity to visit 4 continents, with the aim of finding out about Education and Participatory Theatre in these areas. We hope she will also find places to share some of the creative practices of MakeBelieve Arts, and offer training and in-class sessions along the way.

We are looking for contacts who may be able to help the MakeBelieve Arts team to plan this trip to the following countries;

South Africa  - With a focus on Cape Town

A possible visit to Namibia

Hong Kong

Vietnam - North and South

Australia - With a focus on Melbourne

New Zealand - Arrive Christchurch, Depart Auckland

America - Arrive Los Angeles and 3 months later depart from New York having journeyed across the country

We're hoping to contact Schools, Education Organisations, Universities, Theatre and Education companies, Local Authorities, and anyone doing any innovative work, to share some of our programmes and find out about theirs.
