Do you have stories of evacuation in the 2nd World War? We want YOU!

MakeBelieve Arts is excited to announce a new twist on an old favourite this February

Each half-term we invite children from Lewisham schools to take part in our Gifted & Talented half-term holiday workshops. This time around, we're exploring the themes of the classic 2nd World War story, Goodnight Mr Tom, in an exciting intergenerational project.

We're teaming up with Age Exchange, a charity that brings the generations together to learn from each others' experiences. Working with skilled practitioners, pupils from Years 5 and 6 will be working alongside older volunteers to develop their understanding of this moving story.

...What do we need to make this innovative programme a success?

YOU!

We're seeking volunteers with experience of evacuation in the Second World War for this inspirational intergenerational opportunity. Share your stories with a group of children aged 9-11 then watch them bring your stories to life.

The children will use drama, art and music to shape the stories into a sharing to present to you and other guests.

If you have an evacuation story to share and you are available to come and join us for a few hours during the week of 21st - 25th February 2011 then please get in touch!
