The ideas were flowing at our half-term holiday workshop
Our Gifted & Talented Holiday workshops are over for another academic year! In our final 2010/11 half-term holiday course, we were overwhelmed by just how gifted and talented (not to mention funny, thoughtful and supportive) the participants were.
Alice and Ross led the group of Year 5 & Year 6 pupils as they entered the slippery world of Ad Makers, Movers and Shakers! Finding themselves part of a high-flying advertising team, the Ad Makers explored why some ads make us tick and others fall flat, using the power of words and story to persuade, enthrall and transfix their audience.
With enthusiasm and gusto, the Ad Makers from Good Shepherd Primary School, St Winifred's Juniors, Fairlawn Primary and Sandhurst Junior School rolled up their sleeves and set to work for the week, proving themselves more than adept at crafting compelling and creative arguments.
With zesty proposals better than any corporate boardroom, the Ad Makers brought their ideas to life by making and filming their own ads, then sharing the mix of media and drama with friends and family. Look out for Match A Soap, Choco Flavour, the iPhone 3000 and Instant Products to hit the shelves soon. They're sure to be a big hit!
We had such a fun week. A big thank you to the fantastically gifted and undoubtedly talented young people who made the magic happen!
