Just over one year ago, MakeBelieve Arts was given the distinct honour of being the first small arts organisation to be awarded the Social Enterprise Mark. And now we want to encourage other organisations to do the same!
Awarded by the Social Enterprise Coalition and RISE, the Mark identifies businesses that work for the social and environmental benefits of their communities. Lucy Findlay, Social Enterprise Mark Champion, says, "The Mark is about raising awareness of social enterprise and the benefits they offer...Mark holders...are businesses that deliver huge social benefits through their services."
As a theatre and education company, social and environmental aims are pivotal to our ethos and culture. The Social Enterprise Mark identifies us as advocates for a better society with innovative and beneficial ways of doing business.
If you're an emerging or established social enterprise, then why not apply for the Mark?
Here's to another enterprising year!
