Northfleet Nursery becomes our 4th Helicopter Centre of Excellence

On Wednesday 9th July 2014, Northfleet Nursery School, Kent became MakeBelieve Arts 4th Centre of Excellence.

The presentation coincided with the opening of the Blake Gallery at Woodville Halls in Gravesend. In attendance was the Deputy Mayor of Gravesham - Cllr John Caller and a full house of parents/carers and their children.

The ceremony kicked off with some sea themed songs from the children to go with the sea themed art work they produced and displayed around the gallery. There was then a short speech from Headteacher, Panna Nagar followed by a presentation of the plaque from MakeBelieve Arts, Creative Education Coordinator, Ross Bolwell-Williams.

After the presentation we all walked to a nearby library where Ross lead a Helicopter session to show all the parents what their children had been involved in over the past year.

These awards are given to those select Early Years settings that are regularly using Storytelling and Story Acting and are able to share the benefits of the approach with neighbouring schools.
